Software support services are help desks for specific software. These employees are extensively trained and familiar with the product that they offer support for, and are different from general customer support agents who may have little technical knowledge or troubleshooting ability. Software support services can provide help with everything from installation to trouble-shooting.

While IT professionals in an SMB can troubleshoot most technical problems, it is difficult for these small teams with limited resources to have in-depth knowledge of all software systems–particularly new ones. By working with software support services, bugs and other problems can be fixed much more quickly and effectively.
